“Art & The Soul” - The Need For Art In Our Lives (WK & Ness)

    “Art & The Soul”
The Need For Art In Our Lives

A Walking Keys & Ness Original

    .
    .
    .
Crash… the phone slamming down alarmed the office
They all felt the pressure around the falling profits
Cautious clients… then out come the bosses...
“I’m sorry, but we’re closing and cutting our losses”

Devastated, lumbering along on the way to his car
He passed the museum of art, feeling bizarre...
It was like his soul was reaching for the doors
The man entered not knowing what he’d explore

The lobby welcomed the lonely, hungry and the lost
The scent of history rained on the mind like a frost
Frozen in our time, display humanity's greatest feats
With nowhere else to be made it easier to see blatantly

Stopping at the first piece the illusion shatters...
Standing in awe where mind and soul’s collusion matters,

    “Flight” - Salvador Dali
Intelligence without ambition is a bird without wings
Aspiration to fly calms the nerves that doubt brings
The spark of an idea flourishes, magic comes to life
But the passion to thrive nourishes actions from the light

And from that light is where life first began
Encapturing an existence that's right for a man

    “David” - Michelangelo
Subtle confidence of man radiates through stone
Giving credence that man dominates life’s throne.
Stepping forward, breaking the mold of a line
Naked and divine… Standing in a frozen for time

But no matter the light you manage to harness
It will never be enough to bandage the darkness
Even brightest of souls feel abandoned & heartless

    “Void” - Neil Armstrong
“One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.”
The feeling of darkness may increase more inside
But in the void of the night try and keep stored in mind,
Greatness is shown when you reach for the light

Because even in the darkest of times,
and in the presence of the starkest confines
Still, a glimmer of light is in stars that you find

Starry, Starry Night - Van Gogh
Whimsical details, drams in the trails, blurred in focus
Unfazed town from the glory as Autumn approaches
Blue is the night. Blue is the feeling, no blue moon
Who knew dreaming outside the ceiling of our room
Dreaming a good dream can never happen too soon

From the clouds back as the sand fills our history
Finding the greatest buildings of man still a mystery

    “Time” - Unknown
Thoughts hidden like secrets the pharaohs set confined
Honoring the beginning and end separately yet combined
Towering tall through the tedious trials and the end of time
Forever encasing the mystery the previous left behind

Past is a feature his mind doesn’t play
Lessons from kings the sands blew away
He carried on his way, modernized his thinking
Minimalistic as life pops and changes the feeling

    “Marilyn” - Andy Warhol
Color popping like comic book themes
    Reality captured like comical dreams
Something exaggerated, bright at the root
Sexy in red, the lips tell the truth
The eyes hint to the best tales…
Marilyn was Pop, and sex sells

Where has time gone? Sunset gave way to night.
Curious but satisfied, he took the time to take flight
The time to take a step, aim for the moon and stars
The pyramid's peak of culture and swooning over movie stars
What a wisdom envelops with wandering into art’s gaze?
Refilled, refreshed and rejuvenated despite how I started my day

Take Time To Think About Art

(it's the same feed, I know but I'm too lazy to re-word my thoughts lol)

Standing in awe where mind and soul’s collusion matters
this section was cool. I feel like it was more so the set-up to get to the
meat of the topic, but it serves its purpose well. There's one line where I see
a hiccup either in a typo or missing words or something. (With nowehre else
to be made it easer to see blatantly" also would have been better syntax
to say 'display OF humanity's greatest feats' but no real big deals just worth
pointing out so that a quick edit can fix it. (if you should so choose to do)

I like where this is going already....
    “Flight” - Salvador Dali
Intelligence without ambition is a bird without wings
Aspiration to fly calms the nerves that doubt brings
The spark of an idea flourishes, magic comes to life
But the passion to thrive nourishes actions from the light

And from that light is where life first began
Encapturing an existence that's right for a man
So I assumed that the meat of the theme here, is going from 1 art piece
to the next in a museum and writing the first thing that comes to mind
to describe it. Salvador Dali - Flight <<< this is what comes up when I googled
the title (as I wasn't familiar with it) I feel like you might have vaguely touched this
but then again as crazy as that one is I probably would have went vague as well.
I like the opening metaphor and the way you worded it was great. 2nd line is a great
follow-up playing off the 'bird without wings' phrase.
    “David” - Michelangelo
Subtle confidence of man radiates through stone
Giving credence that man dominates life’s throne.
Stepping forward, breaking the mold of a line
Naked and divine… Standing in a frozen for time
Ah nice, a piece I'm familiar with. Ah I like I like the play on words there "radiates through stone" (as it is -for anyone not familiar- ... a statue) Also liked the line
"Stepping foward, breaking the mold of a line" once again a cool play on the words.
The only thing I see here that I feel is a little awkward is the last phrase "standing in a frozen for time" - I think maybe "Standing frozen in time" or 'frozen for all time' or something to that effect might sound better.

Still, a glimmer of light is in stars that you find
yooo those opening lines are dope af. I feel like you were playing off your last couplet where you started with "and from that light" ...

I couldn't find anything on this. I mean I obviously know you're talking about Neil Armstrong and the whole 'One small step for man' thing. But I don't find any art that correlates with it?
Anyways to the actual verse - I like it. It follows up well with the contrast to light/dark. I have
to question though, it seems darkest of times/starkest confined -in context- are supposed to be similar when they are polar opposites, since the last line suggests you'll find light - reaching for th stars. that might just be the way i read it though - if so my apologies.

Finding the greatest buildings of man still a mystery
nice another piece I'm familiar with. First word here nails the look instantaneously. "Whimsical" actually the whole first 3 lines is great detailing. "as autumn approaches"
I like how you put a timeline/season to it to add an extra layer of detail.

    Time” - Unknown
Thoughts hidden like secrets the pharaohs set confined
Honoring the beginning and end separately yet combined
Towering tall through the tedious trials and the end of time
Forever encasing the mystery the previous left behind
Damnit Ness, do you have a link so some secret artwork or you just making this up to make me google for 10 mins for no reason at all ? lol. Nah I get this one though a lot of museums have an egyptian display. (actually just reminded me to go order Assassin's Creed Origins tbh)
this is a cool little verse, I thing the first line is a standout for me here.

Past is a feature his mind doesn’t play
Lessons from kings the sands blew away
He carried on his way, modernized his thinking
Minimalistic as life pops and changes the feeling

    “Marilyn” - Andy Warhol
Color popping like comic book themes
    Reality captured like comical dreams
Something exaggerated, bright at the root
Sexy in red, the lips tell the truth
The eyes hint to the best tales…
Marilyn was Pop, and sex sells

Where has time gone? Sunset gave way to night.
Curious but satisfied, he took the time to take flight
The time to take a step, aim for the moon and stars
The pyramid's peak of culture and swooning over movie stars
What a wisdom envelops with wandering into art’s gaze?
Refilled, refreshed and rejuvenated despite how I started my day
Ah I like how you followed up the Egyptian theme with "lessons from kings the sands blew away" Also I like how you set-up the next painting/style by saying "modernized his thinking/life pops and changes" - subtle but not subtle.

Super accurate depiction here. I wish that maybe there was a hint to the way this was painted (silkscreen) but that doesn't take away from how good the description is.

and wow, you just recapped all the pieces in a summary from "take flight" to "take a step" "moon & stars" etc. great ending.

Overall the theme/concept of this was dope af. I wish I had chimed in for the collab too now lol You both dropped some great/quotable lines. Described known pieces of art to the T and
just made a really fun piece to read tbh.
